DEFAMATIONTHE GREENHOUSE BALL

DEFAMATION TALK TONIGHT:

Mullum Civic Hall, 6 – 8pm. Organised by the Environmental Defenders Office in Lismore, Ian Cohen will be featured talking about his experience of being successfully sued for defamation by developer Jerry Bennette. This will be useful information for all activists!


THE GREENHOUSE BALL

Fri 30 July – 7 pm till late – Stokers Siding Community Hall.
BYO glasses and drinks. Food & raffles supplied. $15 waged, $10 Conc, kids free.

This is a fun-raiser to send Joe Ebono, our local Greens Candidate for Richmond, to Canberra. Joe hosted the Generator Programme on Bay FM, and lives in Mullumbimby. See http://www.byronballinagreens.org for more info.

Mandy Nolan: Goddess of Australian Comedy; side-splitting, outrageous and out-there.
Geoff Morley: Jewish wit, singer, songwriter, mouth-organist and your MC for the night.
Dave Murray: Bluesman extraordinaire, well known for his knockout performances
Bob Symes & Frinds: founding members of the Bilambil Blues Club: great dancing music
Vig and Nikki: Their last performance at the Naidoc concert knocked everyone"s sox off
Lynne & Jo: same as above with an indigenous flavour
Lance: Lead singer for Kennedy Mansion; soaring reggae voice & rhythms
Phil Eizenberg: musician, singer songwriter; multitalents incl guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, ukaleli
Plus more mystery guest artists. Bring your dancing shoes.


THAT STATION STREET SITE

Reports have reached us about sludge dumping into the drain, lack of sediment control, large piles of dirt getting spread out by the rain, unswept street, etc etc. If you are a local noticing activities such as the above, please report to Byron Shire Council and notify us as well for the portfolio.
