MOVIE: THE BURNING SEASON

This Friday night 26 August at Mullum Civic – great movie to inspire and hearten the inner activist! Made by local film-maker Cathy Henkel: food by Santos from 6 pm, film at 7 pm. Set in Indonesia the movie looks at deforestation from the point of view of the farmers who want to survive growing palm oil, survival of orangutans who are injured, orphaned or loose their homes in the fire, and of course planetary survival in view of climate change. This movie has drama as well as suspense.

And finally a plug for Mandy Nolan, comedienne and social commentator extraordinaire, who has written brilliant pieces about Woolworths and its potential impact on Mullumbimby - see http://www.echo.net.au/opinion-piece/gross-prophets and http://www.echo.net.au/opinion-piece/cheap-tricks and of course last year"s http://www.echo.net.au/opinion-piece/i-feel-wool-worth-less

Hello friends,
I'm very excited, my very first book is about to make it's way into the world. It's called What I Would Do If I Were You and is what I am calling a Breeder Reader - its a collection of my triumphs and failures, all centred around parenting and family...I hope you enjoy it. To celebrate I have a stack of launches around the country - they also have shows attached.
I am launching here in Byron Bay with a comedy breakfast on Thursday 13 October at 9am at the Beach Cafe - it's $25 for a gourment breakfast and a full hour show from yours truly. (Tix can be bought at the venue - limited - 80 only)
I would love it if you could come - I would love it even more if you could tell your friends in other places - I have launches/shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast, Caloundra & Brisbane all through October.
I have attached a pdf that gives a bit of a run down & details about the shows if you want to help me tell a few peeps
Thanks again
Mandy Nolan

(contact MCAN if you"d like me to send you a copy of the pdf). Deb.
