Blessed be, Mullumbimby!
A unanimous vote in an overflowing house to make Mullum GASFIELD FREE!! resulted from our very exciting and passionate public meeting on 28.11.12.
Thanks so much to everyone that helped: BSC Mayor Simon Richardson, Michael McNamara from Lock the Gate Tweed who spoke so eloquently, inspiringly and informatively; the two original inhabitants Bunnum and Jarmaji (hope that spelling is right) who moved our hearts with the Elders" perspective on the Aboriginal Lane Council"s prospecting application to mine CSG in Byron/Tweed shires (they strongly disagreed with the proposal), Ron Curran for gallantly explaining the road survey process, Olga for the wonderful poster artwork (she"s a pro: plug!) and for helping with Michael on the merchandise table, Rosie Bookallil for being chief tea lady with Mithra and friends, Kaye Groves, Sue Vader and all the lovely helpers and sorry if I"ve missed someone .... yes! Donna Johnston from BSC for being so calm cool and collected with all the technical stuff. My heart is still full and as overflowing as the council chambers with the love and support and passion of Mullumbimby. Oh and thanks for the cakes and savouries. Oh, I fogot to say, we collected $1886.75 in donations and sales. That was enormous!!! How generous of our community. One man paid $150 for three LTG signs!!! Love abounds in our community.
LOCK THE ROADS SURVEYS:
Thanks so much to everyone who attended and especially those who put their names down to be street surveyors to canvas from house to house so everyone"s opinion is noted. I will be contacting you very soon. I do still need to find area coordinators for green, pink, yellow, red, purple and orange areas with all the excitement I didn"t make it very clear that we need to have someone in charge of all the street surveyors called an area coordinator. Dave Rawlins has offered to do the blue section (up Mullum Creek) and I think David Sharonowitz is coordinating Pink (lower Wilson"s Creek).
AREA COORDINATORS MEETING: Thurs 6 Dec, 6 pm.
Please think if you"d be willing to coordinate the street surveyors in your area; even if you think you might be able to do this and want to find out more, come along! (call 66843723).
SUBMISSION-WRITING TEA PARTY: Sat 1st Dec 2 pm Mullum Community Gardens Rotunda.
Please bring something yummy to share, paper and pen and wear your best mad hat. Children welcome!
CSG IDOL PERFORMANCE, Lismore
Last night Sue Vader and I went to the Italo Club in Lismore to enjoy a variety performance by creative talented N. Rivers people. Again the house was packed with people in solidarity some of them from areas that have been fracked and poisoned yet everyone was buoyant with satire, humour and enjoyment of having a unifying shared purpose. Another CSG Idol is planned soon and it raises funds to improve the http://www.CSGfreenorthernrivers.org
website. BTW, please go to that website & take the PLEDGE!!

Maree in Main Arm has started a CSG meditation group. Remember Dr Emoto"s meditation with monks next to polluted lakes and changing the structure of the water - shown by frozen droplets on slides? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAvzsjcBtx8
All ideas welcome.
