Greetings
Welcome to the new people added from the public meeting last Thursday. Our social movement is growing – and as Mayor Simon said "We will resist"!

AREA COORDINATORS: Please read the last newsletter http://www.mullumaction.org/index.php?cat=newsletters&nldate=1354296148
in which I explain the need for some Area Coordinators who will look after the street surveyors in each area. Currently I have an area coordinator for Blue (Dave Rawlins) Pink (David Sharonowitz) and Red (Kara Lonergan and Nick Southerden). We now need an Area Coordinator (or 2) for purple, green and yellow. Very soon I will do a group mailout for each colour and so you can "reply all" and talk amongst yourselves re: who will become coordinator.


MEETING FOR AREA COORDINATORS This Thursday 6 Dec, 6 pm. It would be great to get someone from each group starting the process – taking on some responsibility – as I shall be away from Friday 7th till 13th on a Gasfields Bus Tour of Queensland. The mobile phone didn"t materialise, so if anyone has one they can lend me, please call 66843723.

I heard that when the news was broadcast, the presenter mentioned that the Mayor had to sit on the floor! He looked quite at ease there, I must say.

It was a great turnout – and thanks to everyone who attended. Apologies we couldn"t fit everyone in – we had to go with what was available in the tight timeframe and zero budget. Will try & get Civic Hall next time.

The main thing is to get it in and say "I oppose the application".

Action Alert: Brad Hazzard is coming to Lismore tomorrow
As you may be aware the Planning Minister Brad Hazzard and departmental representatives will be attending a public meeting at the Lismore City Hall on Wednesday 5th December at 10am to provide information on the NSW Government"s Strategic Regional Land Use policies.
This is our chance to tell the NSW Govt that we do not want our region turned into gas fields, and that we are not impressed with their ‘blizzard of regulation" that gives the green light for the gasfield invasion.
For this important event we need numbers. Please contact your friends, family and work colleagues and ask them to attend:
If you are on a Gasfield Free road bring a copy of your declaration scroll. Bring banners/ gas field free road signs/ placards Phone/text everyone you know inviting them to come along Please arrive at 9am to get organised

One of the biggest opencut coal mines in the world has been approved for the Gunnedah basin in NW NSW called Whitehaven"s Maules Creek project. A blockade exists and they desperately need support to save this amazing and important biodiverse unique habitat for koalas, south eastern longeared bats, the Feathertail Glider, Spotted Tail Quoll and Masked Owl, to name a few.
