Celebrating World Environment Day in Mullumbimby, frack-free activists are gathering at 1pm for a photoshoot at the old "Biggest Little Town . . ." sign by the Museum in Myocum Street. This is to mobilise community for the upcoming celebrations officially declaring that Mullum is 95.5% Gasfield Free!

In Mullum it"s World Environment Week! There will be a pop-up KIDZ ART competition from 11th to 18th with messages in shop windows showing kids" views on fracking in the shire.

Winners will be announced at Mullum"s Declaration Day on Fri 14th June at Mullum Farmers Market. Meet at the main gates of Showgrounds at 8.30 for procession to the market to meet Mayor Simon Richardson. A separate prize is offered for the most unique banner or placard about CSG mining in the shire.

Byron Shire Councillors will also be involved in making a concrete decision concerning CSG signage in the shire. On Thursday 13th June, at council"s meeting, a motion from Cr Duncan Dey will be tabled to decide whether council will erect official Gasfield-Free signs in the Shire, the signs being paid for by community.

Mullumflicks will be showing movie: "A Fierce Green Fire – the Battle for a Living Planet" on Saturday 15th June. This is the first big-picture exploration of the environmental movement narrated by Robert Redford, Meryl Streep, Isabel Alende and more. Additionally, a short movie by David Lowe documents the magnificent 8,000 strong May Day CSG rally in Sydney last year. Info: http://www.travellingflicks.com
