BENTLEY EVENT TOMORROW – Monday 10 Feb 9am – 1pm


NVDA Teach In at Bentley Protest Site

An onsite Teach-in to practice the art of sit-ins, stand-ins, ride-ins, slow movement, and other forms of creative civil disobedience through simulation and role play. The aim is to increase confidence and skill in non-violent direct action for the protest now on at Bentley where Metgasco plans a tight gas exploration project. This is not a workshop that focuses on legal rights, what to do if arrested and so on...it is about practicing non-violent formations in the face of pressure and police tactics etc.

Please bring fluoro vests, hats and other distinguishing items to be used in role-plays and any other props that you would bring to a protest action including water, hats (if sunny), snacks and so on. Also needed: a portable battery operated microphone since we may be a large group.

Protest outside of Metgasco office in Casino with a Valentine's Day theme. Bring cards, chocolates, red balloons, red clothing?, hearts, drums etc. Gasfield Free New South Wales! Metgasco are trying to drill a tight gas well at Bentley (between Lismore, Kyogle and Casino) which could be the start of a massive invasive Gasfield. Please help us to protect Bentley.

BRUNSWICK HEADS – CARAVAN PARK LAND GRAB
What do you think about plans to erect a 1.8m high steel mesh fence all around the boundary of The Terrace Holiday Park, shutting out locals altogether thus ending public access to the foreshore of Simpsons Creek? This creek is the branch of the Bruns River which flows south under the pedestrian bridge which links the beach with The Terrace caravan park. We have until Fri 21 February to send a submission to secretary@nswchpt.com.au
