John Fenton, Wyoming cattle farmer featured in "Gaslands" movie is touring the East Coast of Australia to give us a first-hand account of what it"s like to live in a gasfield. GFF Byron Shire has donated $500 for the tour, which funds have come from community support, such as the cakes you have already gifted for our on-going campaign to prevent our Shire becoming a gasfield. Once again, we seek your support to provide refreshments for the guests to John Fenton"s talk. He is a charismatic man, and will most likely enliven our resolve to keep on campaigning to be GFF. Hear about the 24 gas wells on his farm and the EPA directing him not to drink the water, bathe, wash dishes or clothes.


THE CHEVRON GUARANTEE
A fracking well at Bobtown, Pennsylvania, exploded and a fire raged for five days with one person missing presumed dead. Chevron wrote to locals apologising for the ‘incident" and enclosed a voucher for a free pizza and 2 litre soda.

HAZZARD"S NEW PLANNING REFORMS, lacking in ESD principals
If you not sure what these reforms entail, I recommend watching this clip by Mehreen Faruqi, Greens Spokesperson for the Environment, 7 mins. Text is with clip. This was her late night speech to parliament on NSW Planning Bill, 21st Nov, 2013. The Chamber was almost empty – where were all the MPs? Do they care?

NBN"S WIFI TOWER - MAIN ARM
Mullum Forum will be discussing the safety aspects of radiation emitted by NBN"s proposed WIFI tower in Main Arm. Thursday 20th February, 7pm or 6 pm for shared dinner. Uniting church Hall, Dalley Street, Mullumbimby.
