TONIGHT - CANDLELIGHT VIGIL FOR MANUS DEATH
The Australian Government has imposed an oppressive, not to mention internationally illegal, policy on people seeking asylum in our beautiful country and as a result a 23 year old man has been killed, many others injured, and all have been wounded in some way.

GetUp! have organised a number of candlelight vigils around Australia, in conjunction with other refugee activism groups, and there is also one in Mullumbimby. This is in honour of Reza Berati, the young man killed on Manus Island this week and to show support for the people on Manus.

The vigil tonight (Sunday evening) will be at the park near Council chambers - 5.30pm for a 6pm start. Please bring candles and blankets. This is an event on FB now.

POLLY HIGGINS – ECOCIDE LAWYER

NBN TOWER PROPOSAL – POCKET ROAD, MAIN ARM
Please write to councillors and ask them to extend exhibition period for proposed NBN tower, Main Arm, by at least two weeks to allow for investigations into the human health and environmental impacts. http://www.byron.nsw.gov.au/councillors. And/or contact General Manager.
If the extension is granted, it is possible that a community meeting will be held to help inform local residents of contentious issues surrounding the rampant proliferation of wireless technology, and electro-pollution in general.
