Wallaroo Win Against Woolworths in South Australia

The Copper Coast Community Watch group at Wallaroo in Sth Aust were successful in their campaign to prevent Woolworths moving into their town.
Another Woolworths exists less than 9km away in Kadina the next town.

A Drake's Foodland already operates in Wallaroo & there is not enough business to sustain two supermarkets, a report from the ACCC indicated this. Visit www.accc.gov.au to read the statement.
The developer Leasecorp announced almost a month ago that they were not going ahead with the development which included Woollworths as their main tenant, due to the current 'financial crisis'.
Many agree people power & the local community standing up for what they strongly believe in played a large part in achieving a positive outcome for Wallaroo & it's residents.
